That’s why we’re continuing to support your journey in 2025 with our Healthy Living Rebate program!* Designed to help you prioritize self-care, this popular rebate offers up to $100 annually (January through December) for a variety of health and wellness programs, products, and services.
2024 was our pilot year for the Healthy Living Rebate. We have now been able to review our most requested/popular types of submissions to suit the most Members and streamline the process for everyone.

Eligible Rebate Categories

Physical Health & Well-being

Investing in your physical health is now even more rewarding! The rebate covers:

  • Sports Equipment: From home gym essentials like weights and treadmills to activity-tracking watches, enhance your fitness routine with ease.
  • Memberships/Classes: Anything related to physical fitness or something that supports healthy movement is eligible for the Healthy Living Rebate.
    Fitness clubs
    Sports memberships (golf, tennis, skiing, climbing)
    Races
    Dance
    Yoga or Tai Chi
    Personal trainer
  • Weight Management: Weight loss memberships, such as Weight Watchers, or apps like Noom, are acceptable items in this category.

Emotional Health & Well-being

True wellness goes beyond the physical — nurture your mind and creativity with:

  • Mindfulness Apps & Subscriptions: Reduce stress and improve mental clarity with meditation and thinking apps like Calm.
  • Arts & Music Classes: Take a pottery or drawing class, sign up for a choir, or learn a new instrument.
  • Art & Music Supplies: Paints, pencils, and other art supplies are covered, as well as instruments and other music supplies.

The Healthy Living Rebate Does NOT Cover Everything*

Just a few examples of what you should not submit receipts for:

  • To help pay for your new bathroom reno
  • That expensive face cream you’ve had your eye on
  • Nerf guns, toys, games for you…(ahem)…your kids
  • Your weekend fishing trip

Things to Remember Before Submitting Your Expense

  • Only Teachers Life / nowly Members are eligible for the rebate.
  • Only Members are eligible to submit once per calendar year. (If your amount is for less than $100, you will not be eligible to make a second claim in the same year.)
  • The Teachers Life / nowly Member’s name must appear on the receipt
  • Item description must appear on the receipt
  • It must be clear to us on the receipt what the item you are submitting for is
  • No duplicate submissions

When you purchase a health or wellness product or service and you provide proof of payment to Teachers Life, you may be eligible (subject to conditions) for a rebate of up to $100 per calendar year if you hold an active insurance policy with us and you have not missed a premium payment. Teachers Life Member benefits, including Flourish +, are non-contractual, and are subject to benefit-specific eligibility requirements and limitations, and may be changed or canceled without notice. Teachers Life has the right to refuse to redeem a rebate and can change or cancel the Healthy Living rebate program at any time without notice to you.
